Galliano Ferro. Hasu
Event organised by Caigo da Mar
An installation that unites the Murano glass tradition and the idea of rebirth. Hasu, is the Japanese term to indicate the Lotus flower, representing purity and beauty, starting it’s life from the mud and in the darkness of the ponds, growing towards the light until it reaches the surface with clean and coloured petals opening up to the sunlight. It is a symbol of struggle against adversity and rebirth after a long dark period, and when it finally sees the light, it opens up. We thought that, after this long period of “closure”, it is a perfect way to start over with the flower that carries this meaning with it. A flower that becomes a lamp, an installation that represents the magic of Murano glass with the skill and care the masters put into interpreting shape, harmony and design.
