The winners of the tenth edition of the Glass in Venice Award, promoted by the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and the Fondazione Musei Civici are Michele Burato, Marcela Cernadas and the Carlo Donà company.
Michele Burato has been producing blown items with master craftsmen of Murano, in simple forms with contours enlivened by abstract glass ‘brushstrokes’ of an extraordinary impact for about twenty years.
Marcela Cernadas expresses her artistic poetry through different media: photography, video, installation, performance and glass, which the artist produces with the technical support of master glassmakers in Murano.
Carlo Donà di Murano, run by Roberto Donà has always been distinguished by the high quality of the metal tools used on the island for working glass.
